About Leyanis
My name is Leyanis Diaz and I am an Afro-Latina Influencer, Business Consultant, Public Speaker, Miss Black Florida USA 2017 and the Founder of MAJOR.
I was born in Havana, Cuba and emigrated to the United States along with my parents when I was three years old. When I first arrived to Miami from Cuba, all I had to my name was a little red purse filled with newspaper and magazine clippings, fashion accessories and a desire to be somebody one day.
I grew up in some of the roughest neighborhoods in Miami and growing up, I watched my dad and grandmother start businesses on the side in order to make end’s meet. I saw just how much they struggled because of language barriers and a lack of education and experience.
Those memories pushed me to become the first person in my family to graduate from college and to pursue a master’s, to start my own business and to help other small business owners in starting, growing and scaling their businesses and keeping them from closing their doors.
